Restarting your pool in spring

Clean your pool
& check your equipment

1 – Remove leaves, debris, and other dirt using a skimmer net and pool brush.

2 – Also check that the pump’s pre-filter baskets are clean and that the skimmers are not clogged.

Restart your
pump & filter

1 – Start the pump and filter to begin water circulation in the pool.

2 – Make sure the water pressure is correct and adjust it if necessary.

Rebalance your pool water

Adjust the water parameters to achieve:

  • TH (total hardness) below 60°F
  • TA (total alkalinity) between 80 and 120 ppm
  • pH between 7.0 and 7.4
  • Phosphate level below 100 ppb

Adjust the salt level

  • 5 kg/m³ for a chlorinator set to Normal Salt
  • 2.5 kg/m³ for a chlorinator set to Low Salt
  • 0.5 kg/m³ for Ultra Low Salt® versions
  • Perform a shock chlorination if necessary. The free chlorine level should be around 1 ppm.

Restart your salt chlorinator

1 – Check the condition of the cell. If there is scale, descale the cell and clean it using white vinegar or 15% sulfuric acid.

2 – Check the settings, particularly the polarity reversal time and the production power
